Before unsealing and starting the standby generator, several inspections need to be performed:

Unit Surface: Ensure that the surface of the unit is thoroughly cleaned. Check for any loose nuts on foundation bolts, flywheel screws, and other moving parts, and tighten them if necessary.

Clearance: Check the clearance of each part, especially the clearance of the inlet and exhaust valves and the pressure reducing mechanism, ensuring they meet the requirements.

Engine Parts: Put each cylinder in the pressure reducing position and turn the crankshaft to check for abnormal sounds in the engine parts. Pump oil into each friction surface and check for any air leakage. Confirm normal compression by shaking the crankshaft.

Fuel Supply System: Check if the vent hole on the fuel tank cap is unblocked and clean if necessary. Verify that the added diesel meets the required brand and has sufficient quantity. Open the pressure reducing mechanism and crank the crankshaft to ensure there is a clear sound of oil injection in each cylinder. Address any air in the oil circuit by loosening the bleed screw of the diesel filter and fuel injection pump.

Cooling System: Check the water level in the water tank and add enough clean soft water if necessary. Inspect for water leakage at the pipe joints. Verify the flexibility of the cooling water pump impeller and ensure the drive belt is properly tightened.

Lubrication System: Check for oil leakage at the oil pipe and joint. Fill the grease fittings with specified lubricating grease. Verify the oil level in the oil pan meets the specified requirements and add the specified grade of oil accordingly.

Electric Starting System: Check the relative density of the starting battery electrolyte, ensuring it falls within the range of 1.240 to 1.280. Verify correct circuit wiring and clean the battery terminals of any dirt or oxidation. Ensure good electrical contact between the starting motor and electromagnetic control mechanism.
